This intriguing new play is the perfect antidote to all the usual on-stage festive jollity of pantomime. Set in a grim dressing room, the panto brokers men are a couple of broke comics and a once successful but now miserable old panto dame who is at the threadbare end of his career, has bitterness all over a face that's well past it's sell-by date. On stage, all three are going through the motions of appearing in a fourth-rate panto, while backstage you glimpse the messy backside of showbiz, where the glamour has turned glum and the performers have gone sour but are still clinging to the wreckage of careers that are now well and truly behind them. Sad, poignant and bleakly funny, you never quite know if these ever-hopeful characters are waving at their panto audience in the finale walk-down or just drowning. Leave the kids at home and go see. But be warned - pantomime will never be quite the same again!

Disturbing and affecting...it manages to contain both laughter and pathos and this is no mean feat.......an excellent performance by Jim McManus who has an actor's voice, rich and mellifluous and his diction is impeccable.....very entertaining and only too true to life.
A great play.....pacey with real pathos and relish........seething frustrations and emotions....a great show full of insight.
Your play was great and I really enjoyed it. It would be lovely to do it sometime for 'Ashanti', and thank you for the offer.............Penny David, Ashanti Development.
It was great to see you in action again....I honestly cannot remember the last time I went to the theatre! It was a dark show indeed but with many moving moments and thought provoking too....Thanks again for a great show..............Caroline Geraerts, Star Turn Agency.
REALLY just loved the play - thank you.
